Important things TO DO and NOT TO DO when media is failing:
TO DO
If you believe your hard drive is failing: Turn it off. Do not continue to start/boot it up or continue to power it on.
If static electricity is prevalent in your office or at home use ESD grounding straps or touch both hands to a grounded bare metal case prior to handling hard drive. Place media in antistatic bag.
Hard drives are extremely sensitive and can easily be damaged making data retrieval impossible.
Becareful not to subject your Hard Drive, Memory Card or USB Memory Stick to Electrostatic Charge. In dry climate reduce static electricity. (Click button)
